Curriculum
The high school offers a comprehensive and
balanced curriculum, including academic and artistic offerings, which exceeds
most college entrance requirements and prepares students for a full range
of career goals. The Waldorf high school curriculum is carefully designed
to address the developmental stages of adolescence. All of the core subjects
are visited each year with a different emphasis through the main lesson blocks,
in which one subject is studied in depth for a period of three or four weeks.
These morning lessons, lasting 100 minutes, rotate subject areas (history,
chemistry, literature, etc.) throughout the year. The main lesson blocks
supplement the year-long classes in English, mathematics, social studies,
foreign language, arts and crafts, performing arts, music, and physical education.
The culmination of the high school education is the ability of students to
think for themselves with the confidence that they can make a positive contribution
in life.
Below is the curriculum overview for each grade.
