Cooking Enrichment with Emily, Thur from 2:00-3:30 pm
Last school year we enjoyed many delicious creations often focused on seasonal produce- some favorites that we often reminisced about include fresh spring rolls, strawberry shortcake, egg in a nest, kale chips, green smoothies and mashed potatoes with herb butter. We also created a cookbook that all students took home to share with their families. You can find a school copy in the office.
Knits, Knots, and Gnomes with Darina, Thur, 2:05-3:05 pm
Knits, Knots, & Gnomes (Grades K-2) We will look to nature as our guide and inspiration, and we will work to repurpose and strengthen some of our budding practice at painting, knitting, and hand sewing, to name a few. We will create puppets as story characters to act out and cherish. We will use things we’ve made, found, wish for, and dream of to make treasures in this class. We will take projects further into the realm of possibility.
Cloth, Paper, Scissors, Egg with Darina, Thur, 3:35-4:35 pm.
Now is the time to expand and strengthen the skills we have in knitting, sewing, and other focused precision work. We will make lovely things out of what we have, such as paper boxes out of classroom watercolor studies, simple batiks, and wax resist painted eggs, to name a few. Traditional Russian hand crafts will enter our space, as well as beautiful, natural material creations.
