The Young Child
Each session begins with gentle play as children and parents enter the room. This structure and the related activities help to create a self-assured, creative child and a peaceful, observant parent. Together, we will create an environment conducive to healthy play and exploration. We will discover the importance of a healthy rhythm in supporting the overall well being of the young child both at school and in the home. You will return home with much valuable information and experience, which you can use in creating your own home rhythms. Read more
Kindergarten
Play is the work of preschool children; imitation is their special talent and natural way of learning. The kindergarten teacher creates an environment where natural beauty and reverence for life abound, bringing warmth, security and cooperation to the child's world of constructive fantasy and imagination. The teacher participates in practical and artistic activities which the children imitate--baking, painting, drawing, modelling and handcrafts in a weekly rhythm--coloring the work with seasonal moods and festival celebrations. Grade School
Our goal is to enable each child's potential to unfold by developing creative and imaginative capacities while building a strong academic foundation. Waldorf education recognizes that children aged seven to fourteen learn best through their imagination. Knowledge is presented through activities which capture and enliven their imagination and channel their abundant energy in a disciplined and artistic way. The arts are integrated into the entire academic curriculum, including math and science, bringing vitality and wholeness to learning, balancing intellectual development and generating a genuine inner enthusiasm.
