Tuition

The East Bay Waldorf School welcomes students of any color, race, gender, or sexual orientation, and all ethnic, national, cultural, social or religious backgrounds.

Tuition

Tuition and fees cover all costs except some class trips, food, after school care, bus transportation, extracurricular progams, music lessons, and minor incidental costs. Tuition is assessed on an annual basis. Tuition and Enrollment Schedules for the Lower School (K-8) are included in information packets, listing tuition amounts for the coming year once they have been announced, along with sibling discounts and other enrollment information.

Financial assistance is available in the form of grants in grades K-8 based on demonstrated need.   Financial aid is not available for the Young Child Sweet Pea classes or the Early Kindergarten class although sibling discounts apply to both.  Financial Aid application forms are now available and must be submitted by January 7, 2010. See Financial Aid Process below for important deadlines.

Enrollment Contract (coming soon) For new and returning families

Tuition Deposit

A one-time non-refundable deposit of one month's tuition (one-tenth of the annual tuition) for each student is needed to assure a space in the class. This one-time deposit will be held year to year as long as the student is enrolled in the East Bay Waldorf School. It may be applied toward the last month's tuition and fees of the student's final, fully completed year in the school, but is otherwise non-refundable.

 Payment Options

Tuition payments may be made annually by July 1, semi-annually, or in ten equal installments due on the first of the month, from July through April.

Financial Aid

Reductions in tuition are based on an independent assessment of a family's expected financial contribution. The Financial Aid Committee balances what assistance is requested with what the school can accommodate financially.  Financial aid allocations are made for one school year only, and a new application is required each school year since family circumstances and the program's funding change annually. Financial need is determined according to the guidelines and formulae established by the FACTS Grants & Assessment system, using Adjusted Gross Income on the federal tax return as a basis for the expected family financial contribution.  In the document below called Income Guidelines 2009/2010 School Year, you can access a chart of the family expected contribution for the school year 2009/2010. This is an example of how aid was allocated in that school year; it is not a guarantee that this is what the school will be able to award this year. If you have extraordinary circumstances or expect changes in the current year, include this information in your application.

Every application requires the completion of the Parents’ Financial Statement ("PFS") via FACTS (www.factstuitionaid.com) in addition to the forms described in the Financial Aid Process, below. Financial aid applications will be processed after a family has completed the financial application process and the admissions process.

The forms are now available and must be submitted by January 7, 2010.  See Financial Aid Process below for important deadlines.
