Kindergarten Admissions

We are accepting applications for limited spaces available in
both the Early Kindergarten and the Kindergarten.

After attending a school tour, parents/guardians of kindergarten-age children sign up for a Morning in the Kindergarten, held on several Saturday mornings and at the open houses during the school year. Childcare for prospective kindergarten children is available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis.

Experience has shown us that children develop best in their chronological age groups. Kindergarten is normally a two-year program; children entering kindergarten should be four years nine months by their September entry (or five years old by December 1).

Classes begin in the fall and are held five days per week from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. After school care until 3:30 pm for kindergarten-age children is included in the tuition.

The Early Kindergarten program is for children who are three years six months to four years nine months by September entry. Classes are held three days per week, four hours per day for three 12-week sessions each school year. Children in the Early Kindergarten are not eligible for after school care or riding the bus.

Admissions process for kindergarten (and Early K):

A Morning in the Kindergarten: Parents/guardians have an opportunity to experience activities in the kindergarten and have a question and answer session with faculty, held throughout the school year usually on Saturday mornings. Childcare for prospective kindergartners is available first-come, first-served, by reservation only.

  3. Download the Confidential Teacher Recommendation Form. Fill out the top portion of the and give it to your child's preschool teacher (along with a SASE addressed to EBWS) to complete and mail to us. If your child does not attend preschool, please note on your application.

  5. Interview: Kindergarten teachers will meet with parents/guardians and their child for an informal conversation.

  7. Upon acceptance by the school, a completed tuition contract and payment of one month's tuition deposit (one-tenth of the annual tuition) will be due.
