Admissions

The East Bay Waldorf School welcomes students of any color, race, gender, or sexual orientation, and all ethnic, national, cultural, social or religious backgrounds.

Admissions events such as School Tours, Open Houses, and the Mornings in the Kindergarten enable prospective parents and guardians of school-age students to learn about our school. Request an information packet by contacting the Admissions Directors, the Lower School or High School Secretaries. K-8 School Tours are scheduled on alternate Thursdays throughout the year. Prospective high school parents may visit the high school by appointment. Please refer to the Tour Schedule for more information.

Young Child Program

Sweet Pea classes for parents and young children under four years of age are available in two sessions throughout the school year. Classes meet on Mondays and Fridays and are taught by Lea Nelson, the Early Kindergarten teacher. More

Kindergarten

After attending a school tour, parents of kindergarten-age children sign up for a Morning in the Kindergarten, held on several Saturday mornings and at the open houses during the school year. Childcare for prospective kindergarten children is available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis. More

Lower School

Once a school tour and/or open house has been attended, parents and guardians submit an application, and an interview is scheduled. The school's educational philosophy and expectations are discussed with the parents. Children applying to grades two through eight usually visit their prospective classes for three to five days. More

High School

Prospective students and their parents are invited to a presentation of the high school curriculum, demonstration classes, and displays of student work at High School Open House events. A tour of the campus, and discussions with faculty and students are included. Parent and student attendance at one high school open house or information event is required before applying to the high school. More

Please call the office at 510-223-3570 to reserve a space at one of our School Tours, Mornings in Kindergarten, or High School Open Houses, and to receive an enrollment packet. For more information contact the Lower School Admissions Director.
