The East Bay Waldorf School is located on 11 beautiful acres in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. Our site combines the best of two worlds: an idyllic natural setting adjacent to regional parks and wild lands, and within fifteen minutes of the major cultural and urban centers of the San Francisco Bay.
Our school was founded in 1980 and offers a complete K-8 Waldorf education, as well as thriving Early Childhood and Parent Education programs. Our current enrollment is 170 students. The Educational Support Position works closely with the Early Childhood program, 1-8 grade class and subject teachers, and East Bay Waldorf School parents, with the goal of lending professional support to classroom health, as well as the developmental and educational needs of individual students. This position may be filled by one full-time professional with myriad skills or several part-time professionals who work together to create a cohesive whole. The East Bay Waldorf School seeks a responsible individual with Afterschool childcare experience, training in Waldorf education and strong organization and communication skills to lead the Aftercare Program on our beautiful 11 acre campus. The position consists of an average of 25 hours per week (between the hours of 1 and 5:30pm) of snack preparation, playground supervision, and guiding children in crafts activities and safe and appropriate play. In addition to childcare supervision, duties include supervising assistants, processing drop-ins, updating sign-in sheets, interfacing with the business office on billing,, keeping attendance records, coordinating substitutes for the program, working with faculty on discipline and other pedagogical issues, communicating with parents, and organizing the occasional all-day supervision of faculty members' children on teacher in-service days. Current First Aid/CPR certification required.
The East Bay Waldorf School seeks a responsible individual with childcare experience and a familiarity with or training in Waldorf education to assist in the Aftercare Program on our beautiful 11 acre campus. The position consists of an average of 12 hours per week (between the hours of 2:15 and 5:30pm) of snack preparation, playground supervision, and guiding children in crafts activities and safe and appropriate play. In addition to after-school hours, duties may include occasional all-day supervision of faculty members' children on teacher inservice days. Current First Aid/CPR certification a plus.
The East Bay Waldorf School seeks a responsible and joyous individual with training in Waldorf Early Childhood, 12 ECE units, and experience working with young children to lead the Preschool Aftercare Program on our beautiful 11 acre campus. The position consists of 17-18 hours per week (between the hours of 12:30 and 4:00pm). Duties include supervising a rest period, preparing and serving snack, guiding children in crafts activities and ensuring safe and appropriate play. Current First Aid/CPR certification required.
The East Bay Waldorf School is seeking a warm, creative and experienced teacher to assist in our early childhood program. We are looking for someone who has completed the Early Childhood Waldorf Teacher Training, has previous Waldorf teaching experience, and is grounded in anthroposophy. Applicant must have 6-12 ECE units to be considered. Current First Aid/CPR certification a plus.
The East Bay Waldorf School is seeking a creative individual with excellent organizational and communication skills to administer and coordinate a quality After School program. The After School program includes aftercare and the enrichment program. We are looking for someone who can efficiently administer the two programs as well as grow the enrichment program so that it reflects both current community interest and longstanding Waldorf principles. Other duties include working with the aftercare lead staff, producing daysheets/signin sheets, parent communication, advertising, working with the business office, recruiting instructors and aftercare substitutes who are committed to supporting the school's values.
