East Bay Waldorf School is an independent AWSNA accredited school, located in El Sobrante, California in the beautiful, thriving Easst Bay Hills - just minutes from Berkeley and San Franscisco. Our site combines the best of two worlds: an idyllic natural setting adjacent to regional parks and wild lands, and within fifteen minutes of the major cultural and urban centers of the San Francisco Bay.

Our school was founded in 1980 and offers a complete K-8 Waldorf education, as well as thriving Early Childhood and Parent Education programs. For the 2015-2016 school year EBWS will serve grades Pre K - 8 with approximately 170 students. We have a highly supportive and involved parent community. Through strong collegial collaboration, grounded in a solid commitment to anthroposophy, the faculty works out of a consensus model. Lead Kindergarten Teacher, full-time beginning the 2015-16 school year

We are seeking and experienced and warm Lead Kindergarten teacher to join our Early Childhood team. 

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Waldorf experience

  • 12 EC units

Middle School Math Teacher, full-time beginning the 2015-2016 school year

EBWS is seeking an experienced secondary math teacher. As a member of the EBWS faculty, you will join a group of enthusiastic and innovative individuals whose foundation is steeped in Waldorf pedagogy.
The position involves teaching five 45-minute math skills classes in each middle school class (6th, 7th and 8th grades), and three 40-minute 5th grade classes weekly. The Middle School Math teacher is expected to participate in weekly faculty meetings on Thursday afternons and participate in EBWS community events and festivals.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, and demonstration of subject matter competency (secondary mathematics grades 6-12) through a combination of the following methods:

  • Have at least a Bachelor's degree that matches the subject area assignment
  • 2+ years classroom teacher experience
  • Enthusiasm for Waldorf education
  • Commitment to professional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Waldorf training, or a deep understanding of Waldorf education.
